In honor of Shark Week 2026, Beyond the Informer is bringing you the scariest monsters of America’s waters. Something is moving beneath America’s waters and eyewitnesses claim it isn’t anything science has identified. From enormous serpentine creatures reportedly swimming through isolated lakes to unexplained shapes captured beneath the surface, the United States has a long history of alleged aquatic monsters. Some are famous regional legends. Others are known only through a handful of disturbing encounters, unusual photographs, sonar readings, and mysterious videos. In this episode of Beyond the Informer, we investigate America’s most compelling water cryptids and the evidence connected to them. We’ll examine historical accounts, firsthand eyewitness testimony, recent encounters, photographs, and video footage, including reports from the last five years. Are these creatures undiscovered animals, surviving prehistoric species, oversized known animals, elaborate hoaxes.....or simply ordinary objects distorted by dark water and human imagination? We’re separating documented facts from folklore, tracking down the original sources, and exploring the possible explanations behind what witnesses believe they saw.
